Anglian Water – optimising emergency water supply
If a water company is unable to maintain the supply of water in a crisis situation, Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs®) regulations under the Security and Emergency Measures Direction 1998, stipulate that an alternative supply of 10 litres per head per day must be provided by means of either bottled water or mobile tanks known as bowsers – or a combination of both.
